Description
The year is 2347. Humanity, fractured and weary, clings to existence on the fringes of a dying star system. The Great Collapse, a cascade of ecological disasters triggered by unchecked technological advancement, left Earth a radioactive wasteland centuries ago. Generations have been born and perished aboard dilapidated space stations and resource-stripped asteroids, their lives dictated by the whims of dwindling supplies and cutthroat corporations vying for control.
You are Elara Vance, a scavenger born and bred on the derelict station, 'New Eden' (an ironic title if ever there was one). Life here is a constant hustle, a desperate dance between scraping together enough synth-protein to survive another day and avoiding the Enforcers, corporate goons who "maintain order" through fear and brutality. Your parents, like so many others, succumbed to the Wasting Sickness, a slow, agonizing death caused by contaminated rations and lack of proper medical care. You learned to survive, to scavenge, to fight, and above all, to distrust.
But Elara, you possess a secret, a flicker of hope in this desolate reality. Buried deep within your genetic code lies an anomaly, a dormant potential whispered about in hushed tones - a connection to the Pre-Collapse world. Some call it the 'Echo', others the 'Resonance'. Whatever the name, it manifests as fragmented visions, fleeting glimpses of Earth before the Fall, of lush forests, clear skies, and a vibrant, thriving civilization.
For years, you dismissed them as fever dreams, the product of malnutrition and despair. But lately, the visions have become stronger, more frequent, and more… coherent. They speak of a hidden sanctuary, a place untouched by the Collapse, a seed vault called 'Project Genesis'.
The only problem? Project Genesis is just a myth, a children's story designed to keep the populace in line. Or is it?
Tonight, during a scavenging run on a derelict freighter, you stumble upon something extraordinary: a corrupted data chip. With your rudimentary tech skills, you manage to partially decrypt its contents. What you find chills you to the bone. The chip contains fragmented coordinates... coordinates that correspond to a region of space rumored to be heavily guarded by the most powerful and ruthless corporation in the system, Chronos Industries.
The choice is yours, Elara. Do you ignore the chip, dismiss it as another cruel joke played by the universe, and continue scraping by on New Eden? Or do you risk everything, embrace the Echo within you, and embark on a perilous journey to uncover the truth behind Project Genesis? Your survival, and perhaps the future of humanity, depends on it.
