Description
The year is 2347. Not much remains of Earth as you knew it. A rogue asteroid, designated 'Kryptos', decimated the planet in 2298, leaving sprawling, toxic wastelands and scattered pockets of surviving humanity. These survivors cling to life in fortified megacities, powered by dwindling resources and governed by ruthless corporations. You are Jax, a 'Scav', one of the desperate souls who venture out into the irradiated ruins, risking life and limb to salvage anything of value – tech, fuel, or even just scrap metal – to trade for survival inside the city walls of Neo-Veridian.
You're not exactly a hero. You're not fighting for some grand cause or noble ideal. You're just trying to make it to the next sunrise. You've seen too much, lost too much, to be burdened with idealism. The wasteland has a way of stripping that away.
Your life took another turn, however, just three days ago. While scavenging near the wreckage of an old orbital transport, you stumbled upon something… different. Not just another rusted-out shell, but a data cache, seemingly intact, pulsating with a faint, ethereal energy. You managed to hack its primitive security, and the data revealed something incredible: blueprints for a pre-Kryptos technology – a self-sustaining energy source known as the 'Aurora Project'.
This knowledge is dangerous. Corporations would kill for it, and the whispers of the Aurora Project have already reached their ears. Now, you're on the run, pursued by corporate security forces and ruthless bounty hunters, all vying for the secrets held within your head.
Your only hope is to decipher the blueprints, find the forgotten locations mentioned in the cache, and rebuild the Aurora Project. Success could mean salvation for Neo-Veridian, perhaps even for the remnants of humanity. Failure? Well, failure in the wasteland is usually permanent.
Choose wisely, Scav. Your survival, and perhaps the future of humanity, depends on it. The clock is ticking. Are you ready to risk it all?
